There are five different tonal variants in Thai language; upward speaking tone, downward speaking tone, high tone, middle tone and low tone. If you’re asking a question in English, it will end with an upward swinging tone. While using an assertion the sentence ends with a downward swinging tone. In other words, in English language tonal variants used according to the sentence however, if you’re learning to speak Thai, you’d need to use tonal variants on every individual word.  Therefore, tonality brings dual confusion. Not only tone creates confusion but also the identical words in Thai. Identical words can bring out a different meaning, if you use wrong tonal variant.

Why am I writing this? Well, when I was thinking about buying To speak Thai Easy, there weren’t many real revieuws around so I though I’d write one quickly to help any of you who are in the same position I was.
